Maybe one of the most popular dutch textbooks for beginners is Nederlands in Gang. Most courses you can sign up for are using it but what if you want to follow it on your own. Here is a plan for you, week by week, supplemented with links to additional materials so you can successfully cover all the material by studying alone and without the help of a teacher.
Plan for 2 study sessions a week
To follow this plan you need:
- Nederlands in Gang Textbook
- Access to the online exercises – this comes with the purchase of the textbook. If you bought a second hand textbook you can purchase just the online code from the publisher; The web environment offers you to hear all the texts and do extra exercises online.
- Log into the web environment and listen to Dialoog 1.1
- Go over the vocabulary FLASH CARDS. For best results use the study mode on Quizlet. You can also download the word list from the website and put translations in your own language.Don”t spend too much time on this.
- Download the gapped text of Dialoog 1.1, and try to fill in the gaps. Check your answers by listening to the recording again. If you are unsure of the spelling of any words, check also with the textbook
