You have been heard. Sorry for going for older songs. Now we will look at the dutch language ones that are currently in the charts of the radio stations. I do not promise that i will never look back. I think that through listening and learning to and the classic songs that every dutch knows all of us expats can feel a little bit more at home. Maybe this is a good idea for a future series of posts to explore. Let me know what you think below in the comments.
For this weeks song i was a little bit worried. I like Suzan & Freek but their lyrics were a bit too complicated for me at first. Now that a few years have passed since i’ve been iving in the netherlands i think i might go over their songs one more time and probably will appreciate and understand them better. Let’s look at what they are offering now.
Ken Je Dat Gevoel - Suzan & Freek Lyrics
[Intro: Suzan]
La-la, la-la-la
La-la, la-la
[Verse 1: Freek]
Ik hoorde dat jij nog op zoek was naar mij
Of heb ik mezelf dat verteld?
Ik weet niet precies, wanneer ben je verliefd?
Maar we voelen het eigenlijk wel
[Pre-Chorus: Suzan]
‘t Is bijzonder
‘k Heb niet eens met je gepraat (Met je gepraat)
Kan niet zonder
Nu ik weet dat je bestaat (Dat je bestaat)
[Chorus: Suzan & Freek]
Oh, ken je dat gevoel?
Als zomaar niks hetzelfde is
Toch voelt het best wel cool
Als liedjes van The Opposites
Net als de Nikes aan m’n voet
Jij voelt altijd goed
En I like it, wat je met me doet
Oh, ken je dat gevoel?
[Post-Chorus: Suzan, Suzan & Freek]
La-la, la-la-la
Ken je dat gevoel?
La-la, la-la
Net als de Nikes aan m’n voet
Jij voelt altijd goed
En I like it, wat je met me doet
Oh, ken je dat gevoel?
[Verse 2: Freek]
Dat gevoel dat je krijgt door heel je lijf
Voordat je mond mijne raakt
M’n brein geeft geen gehoor
Ik ben volledig ontspoord
In m’n hoofd zijn we al daar
[Pre-Chorus: Suzan]
‘t Is bijzonder
‘k Heb niet eens met je gepraat (Met je gepraat)
Kan niet zonder
Nu ik weet dat je bestaat (Dat je bestaat, oeh)
[Chorus: Suzan & Freek]
Oh, ken je dat gevoel?
Als zomaar niks hetzelfde is
Toch voelt het best wel cool
Als liedjes van The Opposites
Net als de Nikes aan m’n voet
Jij voelt altijd goed
En I like it, wat je met me doet
Oh, ken je dat gevoel?
Jij bent echt een keeper
En ik heel dichtbij m’n doel
Gooi me in het diepe nu
Net als de Nikes aan m’n voet
Jij voelt altijd goed
En I like it, wat je met me doet
Oh, ken je dat gevoel?
[Intro: Suzan]
La-la, la-la-la
La-la, la-la-la
[Verse 1: Freek]
I heard you were still looking for me
Or did I tell myself that?
I don’t know exactly, when are you in love?
But we actually feel it
[Pre-Chorus: Suzan]
‘It’s special
‘I haven’t even talked to you (Talked to you)
Can’t live without it
Now that I know you exist (That you exist)
[Chorus: Suzan & Freek]
Oh, you know that feeling?
When just like that nothing is the same
Yet it feels pretty cool
Like songs by The Opposites
Like the Nikes on my foot
You always feel good
And I like it, what you do to me
Oh, you know that feeling?
[Post-Chorus: Suzan, Suzan & Freek]
La-la, la-la-la-la
Do you know that feeling?
La-la, la-la-la
Like the Nikes on my foot
You always feel good
And I like it, what you do to me
Oh, do you know that feeling?
[Verse 2: Freek]
That feeling you get through your whole body
Before your mouth touches mine
My brain doesn’t respond
I’m completely derailed
In my head we’re already there
[Pre-Chorus: Suzan]
It’s special
‘I haven’t even talked to you (Talked to you)
Can’t live without it
Now that I know you exist (That you exist, ooh)
[Chorus: Suzan & Freek]
Oh, you know that feeling?
When just like that nothing is the same
Yet it feels pretty cool
Like songs by The Opposites
Like the Nikes on my foot
You always feel good
And I like it, what you do to me
Oh, you know that feeling?
You really are a goalie
And me very close to my goal
Throw me in the deep end now
Like the Nikes on my foot
You always feel good
And I like it, what you do to me
Oh, you know that feeling?
Yep, i can see myself singing along while i work to this song for sure. I actually think i might have but without studying the lyrics i probably went just to Ken je dat gevoel? and hummed afterwards. Cathcy melody, time to change the way i can folllow along
